Poem

Only one eye,

Deformed head,

Handicapped,

Shiny fur,

Healthy body,

You’re beautiful,

You’re happy,

Jumping around,

Overlooking the mountains,

Say hi to mommy,

Let me have some milk,

Roaming the hills,

You’re different,

Or the others?

Who cares?

They love you!

Who did this to you?

What did it?

Does it matter?

You manage life.

You grow.

You become stronger.

You have friends.

Every day as an adventure.

Not afraid of the motorcycle.

Does it hurt?

Do you pay attention?

You’re beautiful the way you are,

You are being loved.

Do you love yourself?

You don’t think about it.

My little calf,

You’re my teacher.

You know life.

You know how to live it.

You helped me.

The lost girl on the motorcycle.

You showed me the way.

I will not forget you.

You are gorgeous.

Your shiny back.

Your skilled moves.

I love you,

And all your kin.

Come with me,

And stay with me.

Memory is always now,

Do you know?

It does not matter.

Nothing matters

But you happiness.

Right here.

Right now.

In this beautiful world

That heals.

Small calf,

Beautiful calf.

With one eye

And one heart.

The latter sees

The love in all.

Bye, little calf.

You will not leave me.

You will thrive

And enjoy every moment

Without regret.

Jump, jump, jump off

Into freedom.

My THANKS goes to Sonja and Kevin from Anahataretreat in Australia.
